They say your last fun birthday is 21....

I would beg to differ....I don't think it could get any better than this.  A year ago, on my 21st birthday, 3 days before I got married, I found out that my last living grandparent had suddenly passed away. In his last couple months he had been diagnosed with Lung Cancer and not expected to get any better. We knew he was on his road to return home, we just didn't realize how quick it would be. My dad called me while out to lunch with the missionaries to let me know of the news. It was a shock, but due to my location I didn't have time to sit and think about it or get emotional. I'm 3 days away from arguably the best day of my life, and that was all I could think about. We had an appointment soon after lunch to have our engagement pictures taken, (I know kinda late but we didn't have a choice) I had gone through the temple just that Saturday before for the first time ever, needless to say I was on a spiritual and emotional high. The best thing that has ever hap

Our first Call family reunion!

Image
Before grandma passed away she was sick for a while. During that time the family got together most often with and around her. Family celebrations were a bigger deal and everyone made sure they could be there. Since she passed, I can count on one hand how many times the whole family has gotten together. Everyone is living in different places and all of us cousin are married and starting families. It's a harder task to get everyone together in the same place. So for over a year they've had a family reunion planned for this June. They finally decided to make it over the week of grandma and grandpas anniversary and grandpa and my birthdays. So everyone kind of came and went during the week for a few days. We went up Tuesday afternoon and stayed until Thursday morning (my birthday). Since Nu'u and I's wedding date was set so last minute a two of my cousins with their kids weren't able to come down from Washington and Salt Lake. This week was their first time getting t

How far along? 26 weeks (6 MONTHS) today! Baby is the size: The length of an ear of corn! Maternity clothes? I can't get enough. I bought a couple more maxi style dresses at Target getting ready for Hawaii! Sleep: I'm starting to lose a little more sleep due to being uncomfortable. And when I do get comfy I don't stay comfy for very long. The secret is to keep finding comfort in shifting.. Best moment this week:  I just can't get over how big I'm getting and how fast time is flying by! I went to the temple today with my cute friend Heidy before she leaves on a mission next week and had to rent a maternity dress for the first time! Definitely a simple pleasure to find int the milestones that bring all these "firsts". It's so fun!  Missing Anything? Port of Subs! Movement? This Tongan rugby ninja NEVER ever ever stops kicking! It is the best thing in the whole world and has yet to get painful. Sometimes he's positioned uncomfortably

OKLAHOMA!

Every year for a few years now my dad has taken me and let me crash the only boys trip I'm allowed to crash!  He does business with a guy named Charlie Caldwell in Oklahoma and Charlie hosts a big fishin competition every year the first weekend of June. Every year they get a bigger and better turn out. This year they had about 100 guys out there ready to fish and every year is the same schedule. We fish off of Lake Texoma from Soldier Creek. Everyone travels Thursday or Friday to usually Dallas from all over the world. They make their way down to the cabins there at Soldier Creek that Charlie rents out for them. Friday night they close down a restaurant called Sanford's in a little town called Kingston where the whole group has dinner together. While there everyone puts in 20 bucks a person to the pot and 20 bucks a boat for the guides.  Saturday morning bright and EARLY we wake up and head down to the cafe on the dock for breakfast before we head out on the board.  Nu'u go

22 Weeks!

How far along? 22 weeks 3 days Baby is the size:  A Papaya! Maternity clothes? Can't live without em! Sleep: When I'm in my own comfy bed I do really well! This weekend we traveled to Oklahoma and sleeping in that bed wasn't the greatest. It doesn't help that I have a jumping belly to stay awake and watch when I want to/can! :) Best moment this week: These kicks have not stopped!  Missing Anything? Yeah being comfortable whenever and wherever I want and never getting headaches! Movement?  Nu'u could SEE it for the first time as he was about to walk out to the gym I stopped him before he kissed me to point at my belly and just as I did that little boy kicked harder than ever and made my whole belly move! It was the best feeling! Food Cravings? Pickles and Pizza! Which neither are very "weird" or something I wouldn't eat before but I want them ALL THE TIME! And not together....YET :/ haha Feeling Sick? Not for the most part. I had a cou

Hospital Trip....

Thursday: May 22, 2014 I went to bed the night before with severe lower back pain after having "uncomfortable" pain for a few days. When I woke up I could feel severe pain specifically in my right kidney. The same place I've felt pain when having kidney stones in 8th grade for the first time then again a year later. I had an ultrasound appointment scheduled for 10:20 that morning so I thought it be best to wait for that, to make sure the baby is okay then go from there. Well I was 5-8 minutes late for my appointment and lost my spot. I rescheduled for the next Tuesday. As soon as we left there we got food at sonic and I called my doctor's office. (the ultrasound was offsite) A nurse I spoke to on behalf of my own listened to my symptoms from the night before and that morning and requested me to go in to Labor and Delivery at Centennial Hills Hospital (the hospital I plan to deliver at) and check it out. I was having certain symptoms that also sounded like a UTI, pai

WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF TONGA!

WOW. What a trip! This was the first time I got to take this long adventurous journey to the island WITH my husband! Oh how much nicer it was to have him with me through travels, especially being pregnant! Except for the fact that it wasn't as exciting as I am used to being there because I wasn't seeing him after missing him andddd I knew that he was coming home with me. I didn't really think about it before but I realized while we were there it wasn't as exciting or "valued" I guess because I wasn't time I couldn't be spending with him at home. With that being said, it was a BLAST being back with his family and experiencing my first Tongan traditional wedding. Blast isn't the only word I should use though, it was exciting, stressful, filled with laughter and tears, loud music, and it lasted FOUR days! I have to admit, I couldn't have handled being a bride there. I was pretty relieved to think about our small and simple wedding and how perfect
