Second of Seven Wonders of The World!

Image
In summer of 2008 I got to opportunity to travel to China with Arbor View High School's singing Aggies. We had an absolute blast. Among the 4 cities and 8 performances in 10 days in China, was one of the most special things I've ever experienced in my life. Not only did we get to travel to and walk along The Great Wall of China, which is one the 7 Wonders of the World but we got to perform there! For hundreds of people walking by and some that stopped to listen to us. That trip and experience always has been and always will be one I'll never forget!  Today we got to visit another wonder or the world! Number 2 for me :) I never did go on a church history tour when I was younger so seeing all these church history sites have been firsts for me. Also something they get to experience on that tour is seeing Niagra Falls! We stopped there today! What a beautiful sight! It was raining. But totally awesome! :)

PALMYRA

Image
What a dream! Thursday morning my husband, mom, dad, brother and I flew from Las Vegas to Buffalo, New York. From buffalo we drove an hour and a half to the town of Palmyra. What a BEAUTIFUL place!    Our first stop Friday morning was the Joseph Smith farm and the Sacred Grove. What an unbelievable place.  The airspace where the Angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith to teach and prepare him to restore the gospel upon the earth.  The trees in front of the Palmyra Temple are cut down so it can be seen from the Sacred Grove.  Our second stop was to the Book of Mormon Print Shop where the Book of Mormon was first printed.  And our third stop, the Hill Cumorah visitors center on the Hill Cumorah itself.  Our last and arguably my favorite stop was our temple trip this week! The Palmyra temple is definitely small but beautiful. There is stained glass of the Sacred Groce throughout the entire thing. It's gorgeous. And there is a window in reflection of the cut trees that you can see back t

Rugby! :)

Image
I'm excited about this..wanna know why? Cause nothing I've posted yet really has anything to do with the polynesian side of our life! Haha so here it is! Last night my husband had his first practice (FINALLY) with the Las Vegas Rugby Academy. I'm obsessed. Do you know me? I'm OBSESSED with sports. And I'm especially excited about this because I get to learn and watch a whole new game! I've never really watched rugby before so I don't get it! I'm super excited to learn it! Alsooooo I love to brag about my husband (duh) and I love being there for every game and being that one person that gets a kiss after the game! AH bliss :) I just can't wait. I love rugby. Already. And I still don't get it, YET! :) cheers to a whole new sport and adventure! AND my hot Tongan rugby player! Chewhoooooooo!

A D O P T I O N

Image
Where do I start? I wish I could tell you in words how important this subject is in my life. I can try by telling you my story. I was adopted when I was 10 days old through the LDS Family Services, through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was adopted to a couple who knew before they got married that they were unable to have children. They were married for seven years before they were blessed with a baby boy. My older brother was named Thomas Joseph Wheeler III after my dad and grandfather. Three years later they were blessed with a baby girl. They named me McCall Danielle Wheeler. Sometimes my mom would add "the third" just to make me feel special like my brother! Teehee. So anyway. I grew up with the gospel very strong in my life. I think sometimes stronger than most because my dad was a convert at 19. There is just something I love about witnessing a converts passion and love for the gospel. Maybe just that fact that they know what life is really like

Skylar Alyse turns 19!

Image
Skylar Alyse Peters!  This girl turned 19 this week! YEEHAW! This has become one of my best friends is such a short amount of time! We had a lot in common right in the beginning and have only come to find out that we are the exact same person! It's a blast :) we got to go to Disneyland in April when her college teammate Tori came to town and we had a ton of fun! With no parents! Haha anyway. I just hope this girl knows how much she means to me. She has been there for me and WITH me through every up and down of the journey to becoming a polywife! And the ups and downs at times were pretty extreme. But it all worked out! I never lost faith and Sky never lost me! She kept me sane through it all and we have grown as close as can be over the last 9 months! And just cause I got married doesn't mean I lose her! :) Happy Birthday Pete ;)

Sundays :)

Image
Sundays might possibly be my favorite day of the week. I get to just hang out with my husband all day. This last Sunday I got to share my talents with our new ward and perform a musical number. I sang "He Hears Me" which is one of my favorite songs in the whole world. I wore my hula skirt and my family came! I love when my family comes to support me at anything I do. It is a huge blessing having people in my life who are always there for me no matter how many times they've heard me sing and sometimes the same song. This Sunday (bittersweet) I'll be singing the national anthem at the UNLV men's soccer game against Gonzaga. I'll be missing a bit of church but I'm trying to work my way up to the basketball games! I REALLY wanna sing the national anthem in the Thomas & Mack before they hit the lights! Oh my what a dream! Don't worry. When basketball season hits you'll get my rebel post and story of our lives and rebel fans! :)

Temple Dates

Image
For those of you who don't know, my husband and I's life long bucket list item is to attend every single temple in the world! Another goal we have set is to visit A temple every week. So far we've been doing pretty good :) Converts are my favorite people. My dad was a convert to the church at 19 and I just think they have a different kind of strength to their testimonies! This convert is a little different though, I knew Karyssa in high school and always thought her to be one of the sweetest people I ever met. She moved up to Utah for school and was introduced to the church a lot. She got baptized and I had no idea until I found AFTER she got married that she got married in the temple. It was one of the best things to find out! That this sweet soul had found, learned and loved the church as much as I do! Anyway. When I text her to have a double date the first thing she said is a temple date! And I of course said YES! We went to Olive Garden to have lunch before and headed o

Our First Movie Date!

Image
Tonga boy and I went to see our first movie in theaters together! My husband is OBSESSED with movies (understatement) and our first movie together was after 2 months of marriage. Long overdue. We went to see Ridick! Awesome movie with Vin Diesel! He's hot. Don't worry my husband was okay with it....he thinks he's hot too! Haha oops. Anyway! We had dinner before there at the theatre and then went to the movie and of course had some popcorn! It was so much fun! I love dating my husband even though we're already married! It is the best thing ever! Red Rock Theatre is like 2 minutes away from our house so I imagine we'll be having movie dates quite often. Considering its my husbands favorite thing in the world I'm okay with that.

BRONCOS!!

Image
Before football season even started my husband and I had 2 serious arguments about who he was gonna be a fan of. I'm a die hard Broncos fan and he's not necessarily a fan of anyone. He doesn't know football he knows rugby (which I'm okay with). He's always known that I'm a sports JUNKY and that I'm a huge broncos fan so when we talked about it in the past he talked about being a broncos fan and how I need to teach him football. Sounds good to me right? First football season together is gonna be a blast?! Till he found out why I actually was introduced to the broncos....the kid who was my first kiss (14 years old) was from Denver and his family is Broncos fans...of course. So for Christmas that year he bought me a broncos hoodie. So I started watching the games. By myself. Becoming a fan. By myself. And staying a fan even after that "relationship" was over. By myself. No problem right?! Yeah right! I wouldn't call my husband the jealous type (ha

Flowers

Image
What woman doesn't enjoy flowers? And even better? A card. A PRICELESS card! It says on the front "one of the million things you deserve and will continue to get from your poor husband. #polywifecrush" my favorite part is the hashtag! He loves his polywife just as much as I love being his polywife! He's jumped on to this new thing with me and I LOVE it! So anyway. I got these after he had to be up and out of the house by 6:15 for work. I hate mornings. And I hate not waking up to my husband. But after HIS early and hard day at work he brought ME flowers! Absolutely perfect. I just can't get over this boy and how he makes me feel. So don't worry I'll keep going! :)

It's the simplest things that give us the most JOY <3

Image
Wow. Can I tell you my husband is perfect? I just can't handle how simply he makes me smile every single day. I still haven't stopped falling in love with over and over again since the day we got married and even before that.  On our fridge in our cute little humble abode we have a notepad and a pen. My favorite part about writing each other notes is they're always a surprise. Small and simple but still a surprise! If you know one thing about me it is that I LOVE surprises! So anyway, these notes makes my whole day better no matter what. Today I got one that beats em all though: Do you see that? "Wife of the year"?! Goodness does that make me feel loved. Cutest thing in the whole wide world! Stay tuned, it gets better :)

Google+

Image
Don't worry I'm back! But I have so much to catch up on! So first of all I should tell you why I haven't posted in almost two weeks! I've tried, written an entire post, photos and all, and it disappears because it didn't publish. This is why:  I got an ERROR from my Google+ profile telling me that my profile has been suspended because it violates their NAMES policy. It "looks like a business rather than a common name". I don't know if you can sense my frustration but I was PISSED because I just all of the sudden lost access to my blog because its connected to my google+ profile. Anyway. There's my story, good news? IM BACK! :) and have lots and lots to tell you!

Labor Day

Image
Today was a BLAST!  So we left at 7 this morning for the lake and I was so exited! My family has owned a boat since I was for and in the last probably 10 years I've been on it like twice! And I LOVE boating! Pretty depressing I know. Haha so anyway today was the first time we took it out the guy that basically takes care of it who is in my parents ward. His family all went and my husband and I, Kona, and my mom joined them! It was SO much fun. So get this, the boy I married, from Tonga (an island) has never been on a speed boat or ever really even seen one! So today was an awesome adventure for him! And I was so proud of the fact that he tried everything! He got up on a knee board, tried out a wake board and went tubing with me! I tried everything as well and succeeded on nothing. It was a frustrating day for me but I was constantly distracted by being proud of my handsome husband! He was awesome! I have bruises EVERYWHERE from knee boarding and feel like I don't need to drink
