Rugby in California!

Image
Oh how I LOVE California! So my husband has played rugby on and off for most of his life. This is the best opportunity to take part in "poly" type stuff here in the states. There is a club here in Vegas called the Las Vegas Rugby Academy and honestly it was by accident that Nu'u heard about it. We were finishing eating at L&L Hawaiian BBQ when a guy from New Zealand who could tell my husband was from Tonga said something to him about playing. Invited him to talk to someone about it and come down to play. Nu'u went down one night to check it out. They let him practice with them that night and told him what else he had to do to officially sign up for the club. He signed up and started practicing with them regularly. For the first several weeks though it still wasn't the season for rugby. This week the season started! So they start to play games and tournaments. Both in town and out of town. Nu'u plays for a team called the Irish. They are a club in

Cheers to a brand new chapter to EMBRACE

I decided around the first of the year that I would be going back to school and try to get an associates in business. My dad is planning on opening a batting cages this year and separately opening a shave ice stand inside! And guess what? He's letting me own the place! Ummmmm I don't know how? Anyway. This has been under way for a while but it's finally getting down to the last little bit and ground broke this week! YAY! Well. Like everything in life, learning to embrace life mean also learning to embrace a complete change in life plans! So school is being put on hold this semester for two reasons…1- because I decided to procrastinate and tried to register too late to get any classes I wanted 2- because I got a new job!!! Today I started a new job as a nanny! A sister I was assigned to visit teach with my partner Megan Nielson was looking for a new nanny as she just got accepted into the nursing program! She originally had a schedule of Tuesday Wednesday Thursday short d

I've officially chosen my new "word of the year"! I am excited about doing this again this year. I've done it that last few years with my best friend and it has been an awesome experience! Last year my word was patience. This year I have chosen the word EMBRACE. embrace [v]: hold someone closely in one's arms, especially as a sign of affection accept or support a belief, theory, or change willingly and enthusiastically I have never been good at accepting change in  my life. My biggest lesson of patience last year was a lot of accepting change. This year is gonna be even more. I've chosen embrace to challenge myself to continue doing that. Not just accept change but to support it. Being a newlywed there isn't may bigger changes than learning to live with a brand new person, not just a roommate but sharing EVERYTHING with. My time, my space, my energy, my stress, my love, my pain, my monthly issues (the worst), and my happiness! It is a c

Farewell 2013!

What a year it has been. When it started I was engaged, had 2 living grandparents, my dad was just my dad, and my word of the year was PATIENCE.  I couldn't have picked a better year to exercise and understand my own patience. And in some ways learn how to be patient all together. When I returned home from Tonga right before the year started I knew 2 things, I was completely head over heels in love and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man. What I didn't know was when the next time id see him would be, when we would get married, where we would get married, or if I'd ever return to Tonga again. My grandmother was sick and nearing the end of her life. I've never been more thankful for her than the last few months of her life when I got to know her the best. And what a blessing it was to be able to spend that time with her. I had some of our most tender and broken conversations I've ever remembered during that time. I got to see her, care fo
