Where has the time gone?

My word of the year is SAVOR , and I've been truly taking it to heart! Therefore, I haven't had time to get on my computer and blog! Charlie is 7 1/2 months old and life has been so insane since my last post in January. As if it's not enough to have a newborn babe, in January, Nu'u started school full time at the College of Southern Nevada and I decided to start a new business with LuLaRoe! It has been absolutely wonderful and life changing, and HARD! I exclusively breastfed until Charlie was six months old when he started on solids. We are still going strong with nursing as his main food source. Yes, that means for the most part he nurses every 2 hours during the day! Crazy? I know. But the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my whole life. I had a post drafted up titled "10 things most women won't tell you about being pregnant". It would have included mostly complaints about how uncomfortable and annoying those last days can get. As I tried to go...

SAVOR

This is the fourth year I have chosen to forgo the idea of resolutions and instead choose a word of the year! A word that I want to define my year. A word to keep in mind that will encourage growth and understanding.. Last year my word was EMBRACE . I couldn't have chosen a better word for the year. I learned so much about the gospel, my marriage, and myself. I learned to embrace anything and everything that comes with being pregnant. The good and the bad. I learned to embrace the trials I may face in life for the purpose that I will learn something from every single one. I learned to embrace my changing body and the miraculous things it would do before, during, and after labor. I learned to embrace the pain and trial that came with breastfeeding as well as learning how having a tongue tied baby is, how to fix it, and what to do next. We bought a new home, Nu'u enrolled in school that he will start in 2 weeks, and we have both learned what it really means to be in love, wi...

The baby boy's GRAND entrance!

Image
WARNING: There is absolutely NOTHING glamorous about birthing a baby, no matter what the story. So if you are not okay with somewhat graphic terms/explanations I suggest you not read! Nonetheless, this story, like many more, is miraculous and beautiful and something I will treasure forever and ever.  40 weeks came and went faster than I could have imagined. Looking back it was the longest day of my life. But now it seems like forever ago. Yes I spent 26 hours laboring on my DUE DATE! At least most of it. I did not for a minute, of my entire pregnancy, expect this boy to come a minute early or even on time...and I guess after all he was still technically late! Backup: Ever since getting to a point in my life of thinking about having children I decided I wanted to have a very natural labor and delivery. I have a very high pain tolerance and have dealt with "high pain" situations well throughout my life. I also have a very firm belief that everything happens for a rea...

38 WEEKS!

How far along? 38 Weeks and 5 days! Baby is the size: I can't even keep track anymore....HUGE?  haha I think a winter melon.. Maternity clothes? Even those puppies are getting a little small. I definitely have to be careful to pick up some of my more giving clothes to make sure I don't look like I'm bulging out of them...which seems  nearly  impossible these days! haha Sleep: I have to get up a little more often than normal but I'm still not having too much trouble getting right back to sleep. Best moment this week: GETTING THE NURSERY PUT TOGETHER!!!! (post coming soon) Missing Anything? Umm eating whatever I want? haha Between my gestational diabetes and this acid reflux crap I  definitely  have to be careful about what I eat and how! Movement? The boy literally never ever stops. It is something I will miss so so so much when he is born and probably the only thing I would ever think could give me PPD. It is my  absolute favorite thing in the wo...

36 Weeks!

How far along? 36 weeks, 1 day.. Baby is the size: Canary Melon  Maternity clothes? Even those are getting a little tight/small. Can't believe how quickly my body is changing these days! He is supposed to be gaining an ounce a day and I can definitely feel and  see it! Sleep: I've had a couple restless nights but have luckily had a limited amount of  interruption to a good night's sleep! Best moment this week: Hearing that baby is  growing "beautifully" and his session of being monitored was "textbook". After being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes my biggest worry has been him getting too big and or being unhealthy. It was SO nice to not only hear that he is fine but even for a "normal" pregnancy he's doing awesome! :] Missing Anything? Being mobile? haha Let me re-phrase. Walking without a wobble and feeling like every time I sit down or stand up I look like an old lady. Movement? HE NEVER SEVER STOPS! It is the absolute best...

All things baby shower!

On Saturday we got to celebrate and prepare for mister man's grand entrance at my mom's house. It was way better and cuter than I could have ever imagined. My mom and "second momma" hosted it and they did amazing! It was turtle themed and absolutely adorable! My mom made most of the food and Susan made the cutest cupcakes with personal little toppers that were perfect!  Confetti Cupcakes, my all time favorite! Our wedding cake was confetti :]  Probably my favorite decoration :]  Yes those are UNLV onesies and I CANNOT wait to take the baby to the games!  Nu'u made an appearance to open a "daddy doody survival kit" that my best friend made for him!  The older I get the more I look just like her <3
