BOY BOY BOY!
I'm SO late I'm sorry.
I knew I wanted to do something fun for our gender reveal I just didn't know what. So the first place I looked (of course) was Pinterest! I looked at a bunch of different ideas and if you know anything about me one of the first things is that I don't like to do things "normal" or "cliche". So when I saw things like filled cupcakes or cakes, opening a box filled with balloons, blowing up balloons or confetti, I was not interested. An idea I only saw one at the time and even when I looked only saw a couple and absolutely LOVED was a paint fight! White bottles, not seeing the color until it came out! My mind of course starting racing and I was SO excited. I was hooked on the idea and I was gonna make it work!
My plan:
Get the ultrasound and have the technician seal the gender in an envelope, go to Michaels and pick 2 shades of Pink paint and 2 shades of Blue and have a customer service person check me out for 2 and put them in white bottles or so I can't see the colors inside. We invited people over to witness with us the surprise of finding out the gender. I wanted close friends and family participation by them being there but only Nu'u and I were actually gonna be fighting with paint!
What actually happened:
I got the ultrasound and the technician sealed the gender in an envelope. I went to Michaels an hour before the party, picked out two shades of pink and two shades of blue and found no white bottles to put them in. I ended up having I buy the four bottles and hope to finish the rest of my project at another store. Nu'u was with me but Ellise was on her way, she met me at my next try, Sally's while Nu'u went to my parents to entertain guests till we figured it out. Sally's had nothing that would work either. Our next stop was wal mart and we still had to go to SAMs Club for some food and cupcakes. At Wal Mart we didn't find what we were looking for. What we did find was shampoo bottles that for the same tops as the paint bottles. We bought them, planned to empty them and ask a stranger to finish the rest. We found no one. On to our next and final stop, SAMs Club. We had to go to the customer service counter to get a free day pass so that we could get what we needed, and then it all worked out! The girl that helped us was young. Ellise went ahead and told her what we needed done and she was more than willing and EXCITED to be a part of it. She was the only one to see the gender before we all found out together and that was fun for her! Haha so we emptied the bottles for her, left her the 2 empty bottles, the 4 paint bottles, and the envelope while we hurried to get what we needed! She bagged the two extra paint bottles in a black grocery bag so we couldn't see the color and handed us the two shampoo bottles with the paint tops for easy fighting! :) We got to the house and could wait no longer than 5 minutes for the reveal! Nu'u and I were bother wearing white shirts and had one bottle each behind our backs. We popped the tops and on the count of there fired!!
We had the people we invited wear they're guess or wish and I totally forgot to take a picture of the "teams"! I was WAY too excited about having a BOY!
It was a VERY fun experience and despite all the put backs it turned out perfect! Nu'u and I both commented for a few days on how absolutely FUN it was to do that and have everyone there! It was awesome!
