Cope and Whiskey <3

Skylar Alyse Peters is one of my bestfriends. Ryan Chen is one of my "little" brothers who's not so little. He found a puppy in a dumpster in Arizona where he attends college. When coming home for break he decided to bring the puppy home for Skylar. She named him Cope. Little did they both know, Cope was sick. Really sick. He stayed the first weekend at my house because Skylar was headed to California. He was tired all the time, didn't play much, he just wasn't very "puppy" like. When skylar got home she had him for a few days before noticing that it got worse. He had a dry nose. Started having small seizures. She took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with 4 different bacteriaa. That night when he got even worse she decided to take him back to the vet where he was diagnosed with distemper. The beginning of my best friends heart break. After 2 more short days Skylar took him back to the vet, the seizures became full body, he became unresponsive, things just weren't getting better. When the vet agreed that cope was getting nothing but worse they put him down. Skylar was broken. Within minutes of her telling me she put him down (I was already prepared for this and knew what I was gonna do) I was in route to pick up a brand new puppy for Skylar. A little girl, 9 weeks old, full breed German Shepard, CKC registered, and current shot records. I picked her up and was so so so excited! I almost wanted to take her over to skylar right away! But I knew her or I both weren't ready for it. So I waited. Christmas Eve came around and I was really becoming impatient! So now it came down to convenience due to her schedule for Cheistmas and Christmas Eve. So at midnight to start Christmas, Sky and all of her friends went to church. When she returned from church with everyone there I had Johnny make sure she was the one to open the door and be introduced to her new little girl! With a bow on her head and treats keeping her put, Johnny kept me updated every step of the travel home and when I heard Sky unlocking the door I stepped back and closed myself in the closet behind the front door. I heard her walk in, turn the light on, take a huge gasp of air and start to cry a little. I stepped out of the closet and with tears in my own eyes wrapped her in a hug and just said Merry Christmas. She was SO happy but also instantly cautious about where she would walk, sleep, eat, drink and hang out in general. She cleaned up a couple things then just sat around with her for a bit. She wasn't used to her yet of course but was still the cutest thing! I was so happy I could make Skylars Christmas something of smiles after so many tears!
This is sweet boy Cope with Kona..

And this is our pretty, healthy girl Whiskey!

She is an angel and I can't wait till she's big and plays with Kona! They're buddies :)
