A Tongan inspired C H R I S T M A S <3
What a priceless time. Celebrating the birth of Christ by spending lots of time with family, laughing, sharing, and showing love to one another.
My first Christmas as a Pome'e was definitely one of my favorites. The last few years we've spent Christmas dinner at Aunt Lisa's house but this year they went to pick Ashley up from her study abroad program in Rome and got back only a few days before so we had Christmas dinner at my parents house. We had dads family there, our family there, Jackie Baldwin and the boys there and then the Lasike family! About 30 people over at my parents for Christmas and it was an absolute blast!
Nu'u and I woke up Christmas morning and opened our gifts. I hadn't gone to bed till 4:30 finishing my project for him. His missionary scrapbook. And seeing the look on his face when he finally saw it made it totally worth it! I had a buckle Christmas! I had sent Nu'u to buckle after I picked out 2 things he could buy me and when he went he decided he want to get some more! He's so stylish and picked out some cute boots and tops! And my favorite was a new pair of cute sweats! I loved it. So after we opened our gifts Nu'u headed off to uncles house to prepare for cooking the pig! As soon as he left I got to cleaning and didn't stop for the rest of the day until I got ready for dinner! It was extremely refreshing and kept me awake to stay busy. So I got ready and got an outfit together for Nu'u and headed over to lasikes where they were cooking the pig. I cooked deviled eggs over there and then we all headed over to my parents house.
Nu'u delivered, cut, and served the pig. It was so awesome and I was so proud of him! We also had BBQ chicken as another meat and everyone brought other appetizers and stuff. We were definitely well fed for Christmas! It is always a good time having the whole family together sharing fun times and making new memories! It was even better getting to share it with my newest polynesian family the Lasikes who have been completely priceless people in my life! Thank goodness for marrying a Tongan and creating brand new Christmas traditions!
