OUR first Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving to a boy who served a mission in Las Vegas means Turkey Bowl and eating at like 10 different houses! So why change it? Nela mentioned to the elders quorum president at church the week before Thanksgiving about playing a Turkey Bowl game in the morning so a few days before he got an email that it was on! A first for our new ward and hopefully a new annual tradition! As long as we're in the ward it will be! So early morning on Thanksgiving Nela went to play flag football with the ward at a park near by while I got up and ready for the day. When I was ready I took Kona down to the park and let him play in the leaves for a little.....
When he was done playing in the leaves he laid down and watched Nela play for a while like such a good boy...
The boys got done playing shortly after and we headed home for Nela to shower. Uncle Coll invited him to help with preparing/cooking the food and told him to come early so our next stop was the Thomsons house! I dropped him off there and went to drop Kona at my parents house to play with Mia (the Owens dog) for a while. 
Dad got a "Turkey to go" dinner from Canyon Gate and asked me to go pick it up for him so I went there next. After dropping that off at home it was finally time to head back to the Thomsons and watch some football before everyone came over for dinner. 

Aubrey and Matt spent this Thanksgiving in Alabama and Ashley is studying abroad. Joseph didn't come down because he's just about done with school so the "normal" thanksgiving just wasn't the same without everyone there. 


We left after eating dinner and went to play volleyball with the Lasikes and Ungas at my parents chapel. We ended up there for a couple hours and had some fun playing. We went back to the thomsons for a bit and then called it a night. Our first thanksgiving together was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. I lovey husband to pieces and LOVE spending holidays with him! Cheers to the rest of the holiday season coming in the next month! I'm loving life.....

On Friday: October 10, 2014, I became a mom to the most handsome little brown boy I had ever seen. Since I was adopted, my mom was one of my biggest supporters to the idea of breastfeeding. She never got to experience that and she wanted to make sure I did! It was VERY important to me that I breastfed as it was something I always dreamed of doing. On October 13 (day 4) we visited our pediatrician for the first time. She was my pediatrician as a child and I absolutely love her and recommend her to EVERYONE! SAVOR

This is the fourth year I have chosen to forgo the idea of resolutions and instead choose a word of the year! A word that I want to define my year. A word to keep in mind that will encourage growth and understanding.. Last year my word was EMBRACE . I couldn't have chosen a better word for the year. I learned so much about the gospel, my marriage, and myself. I learned to embrace anything and everything that comes with being pregnant. The good and the bad. I learned to embrace the trials I may face in life for the purpose that I will learn something from every single one. I learned to embrace my changing body and the miraculous things it would do before, during, and after labor. I learned to embrace the pain and trial that came with breastfeeding as well as learning how having a tongue tied baby is, how to fix it, and what to do next. BRONCOS!!

Before football season even started my husband and I had 2 serious arguments about who he was gonna be a fan of. I'm a die hard Broncos fan and he's not necessarily a fan of anyone. He doesn't know football he knows rugby (which I'm okay with). He's always known that I'm a sports JUNKY and that I'm a huge broncos fan so when we talked about it in the past he talked about being a broncos fan and how I need to teach him football. Sounds good to me right? First football season together is gonna be a blast?! Till he found out why I actually was introduced to the broncos....the kid who was my first kiss (14 years old) was from Denver and his family is Broncos fans...of course.
